The next China public holiday will be in 2022 — New Year’s Day (January 1-3). New Year’s Day is one of the public holidays in China and people usually have three days off. Although it’s not a traditional festival in the country, most malls are specially decorated during this holiday and the shops launch sales promotions.
Please note that expressways in the country are NOT going toll-free during the approaching holiday. In China, passenger cars taking expressways are exempted from tolls during four holidays: Spring Festival, Tomb-sweeping Day, Labor Day, and National Day. Remember to plan your holiday getaway wisely and travel safely.
The National Health Commission warns of a higher risk of potential transmission because the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival (January 31 to February 6) holidays are approaching.
As the coronavirus continues to mutate and wreak havoc across the world, China still faces risks of an epidemic rebound due to imported cases. Only if we prevent the virus from re-entering the country can we forestall any resurgence of domestic infections and consolidate the gains.
Local authorities will strive to prevent and control the epidemic in a scientific and accurate manner so to ensure healthy and safe holidays for all.
