Cuiguan pears, nicknamed “snow in June” for their white flesh, thin skin, tiny pits, and sweet and juicy taste, are about to hit the shelves.
The pear trees in the orchards in Suzhou’s Shushan Village are heavily laden with fruit
now. These juicy, sweet pears are expected to be available from July 22 to August 15 this year.
Due to rain showers in the pollination season, the quantity of pears produced in 2022 is estimated to reduce by around 20 percent and the price might be a little higher than previous years.
