The Magical Craftsmanship of Suzhou, a documentary on intangible cultural heritage of Suzhou, was recently screened at the opening ceremony of “Chinese Film Days” in Romania. The documentary has hit cinemas in six Romanian cities, along with five other Chinese films.
Guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and produced by Suzhou Broadcasting System and Suzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management Office, The Magical Craftsmanship of Suzhou had already been released in a number of countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, before the screening in Romania.
Romanian film critic Irina Margareta Nistor hoped Romanian audiences can better understand modern and contemporary China through the film festival, and called on the Romanian and Chinese film industries to strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
With a unique theme and elaborate production, The Magical Craftsmanship of Suzhou has wowed the audience around the world and attracted coverage from a dozen of media outlets, including the national TV network of Romania, PRO TV, and Xinhua, allowing international friends to know and learn about Suzhou and feel the charm of China’s stories.
