As a part of the supporting cultural exchange activities of Suzhou International Day: China-Japan-South Korea Crafts and Cultural Exhibition, “China-Japan-South Korea Traditional Culture Experience Class” will invite lecturers from the three countries to introduce their special cultures such as fan making, paper folding and ikebana to the public on three weekends in a row. Many other cultural experience activities will also be carried out.

Ikebana

Ikebana is part of the traditional Japanese culture. Originated over 600 years ago, it still enjoys unique artistic features, and has evolved into different schools and arranging styles. It is said that ikenobo is the origin of ikebana.
Wang Ying from Ikenobo Ikebana will show us the art of ikebana and the ways to arrange flowers.
Jongi Jeobgi

Jongi jeobgi (Korean paper folding) symbolizes creativity of preschool education and unique culture of South Korea. Using eco-friendly paper with bright colors and various patterns, jongi jeobgi is rich in forms and styles of presentation.
Song Lan from JONG IE NARA will teach children and parents how to fold paper into beautiful hanbok (traditional Korean clothing).
