A performance called “The Jiangnan Within Sizhu” was held at Steyr City Theater in Austria on October 5 (local time). It is the sixth efficiency of Suzhou Chinese Orchestra’s Europe show scenic tour in addition to an essential element of Musikfestival Steyr 2023. The mayor and various other visitors from Steyr City, in addition to nearly 1,000 spectators watched the efficiency with each other.
Under the baton of Pang Kapang, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra, the performance was done by famous erhu virtuoso Zhu Changyao, renowned pianist Pavel Kachnov, and the impressive young performers of the ensemble. The show began with the Chinese instrumental music “Yanyu Fengqiao”. A series of traditional or unique musical items including “The Moon Over a Fountain” and “Guang Ming” showcased the distinct appeal of Chinese instrumental songs.
Mayor of Steyr City stated that he was honored to welcome such an excellent band to execute in the city and have face-to-face communication with the artists. “Music is a bridge of interaction between us. We want to have more exchanges and collaboration in efficiency between Suzhou and Steyr, along with China and Austria in the future,” he added.
