Yan Wenliang, Hu Cuizhong, Zhu Shijie, Gu Zhonghua and Cheng Shaochuan founded Soochow Fine Arts School at the Canglang Pavilion in 1922 (Yan, Hu and Zhu were acclaimed as “Three Scholars of Canglang”). The school set up the board in 1927 with Wu Zishen, friend of Yan Wenliang and the richest person in Suzhou at that time, as the chairman. Wu since invested a large sum of money in the school. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Soochow Fine Arts School, Suzhou Public Cultural Center will hold a series of exhibitions and events.
Huang Hanyong Haipai Jade Carving Exhibition

As one of the four major schools of jade carving in China, Haipai jade carving, also known as Shanghai school of jade carving, was developed in Shanghai in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Inheriting the essence of jade carving in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and integrating the technological characteristics of Suzhou, Beijing and Yangzhou schools of jade carving, Haipai jade carving is widely known for its inclusiveness, marvelous techniques and mixed cultural elements.
New Prints Exhibition of Yangtze River Delta Basin
