The show follows an underwater exploring crew made up of stylized anthropomorphic animals, a team of eight adventurers who live in an undersea base, the Octopod, from which they go on undersea adventures with the help of a fleet of aquatic vehicles. Although its technology is fictional, the exotic creatures and locations that the crew encounter are based on real marine animals in their natural habitats.

The Orphan of Zhao

“The Orphan of Zhao”, a famous drama written in the 13th century similar to Hamlet, is adapted by Xu Jun, a Shanghai-based director, and artist from Hong Kong and Taiwan. The story takes place in the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC). A treacherous court official named Tu Angu murders 300 family members of government official ZhaoDun. The only survivor is a child, whose mother entrusts the infant to the family doctor Cheng Ying before taking her own life.
