Suzhou Jinji Lake International Dragon Boat Race 2023 is set to kick off at Chengshi Square by the Jinji Lake on June 22.
A total of 60 teams will compete in the race while six other teams will bring an exhibition match. The event attracts 1,398 athletes, 84 more than the 2021 edition.
Among the 66 teams, nine are comprised of expats. This year a total of 172 foreign racersfrom 15 countries and regions including France, Germany, the US and Brazil have signed up, accounting for 13 percent of the total participants. Uni-president Green Tea Team, for instance, is an international team built by Uni-president China Holdings Ltd and aims to boost the exchanges between China and foreign people.
