The 5th Kunshan Through Expat Eyes event was held on 22th of April. More than 40 expats in Suzhou from over 20 countries including the U.S., France, and Spain, took part in the event of cycling along Dianshan Lake in Kunshan淀山湖.
The 11.3-kilometer-long cycling route starts from Banma Lawn, one of the eight views of Dianshan Lake, and ends at Le Camp International.
“I have been working in Kunshan for seven months. This is my first time to take part in such an outdoor event. Dianshan Lake enjoys a beautiful scenery and offers an enthralling experience for me, which is equivalent to Lake Biwa in Shiga-ken, Japan,” said the General Manager of Affairs of AGC Display Glass (Kunshan) Inc.
EYE Kunshan, a competition featuring photos taken by the cyclists during cycling, was held simultaneously. Contestants in groups shot creative photos as well as individual photos of the cyclists at the designated sites along the route. “It is my first time to be here in Kunshan. I have shot a great many photos along the route. Kunshan not only develops rapidly in economy, but also well preserves the natural landscape and rich cultural heritage, which bestows unique charm on the city,” said Douglas Dueno, a foreign expert from China Daily.
So far, the Kunshan Through Expat Eyes event has attracted a total of 100-plus overseas friends from 29 countries, and provides a bridge for expats in Kunshan to know more about the city and a platform for communication between each other.
