Construction of Suzhou Museum of Taohuawu Woodcut New Year Prints is currently in full swing, also the museum is scheduled to open to the public in 2023. It lies in the northeast of Taohuawu Historical and Cultural Area, Gusu District, covering an area of 5,299 sq. m. and a total floorage of 8,584 sq. m.
The museum is built in close proximity to the ancient moat, Suzhou Railway Station, Suzhou Rail Transit Line 4 Beisita Station (轨交4号线北寺塔站) and Renmin Road. It is located on the west of the former residence of Tang Yin (唐寅, courtesy name Bohu, 伯虎, one of the most notable painters in the history of Chinese art) and north of Jiangsu Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theatre, and faces Suzhou Art Museum, Suzhou Culture Museum, Suzhou Celebrity Museum across the river.
Upon its completion, the museum will be combined with the Pu Garden (or Puyuan Garden, 朴园) and together form a core cultural part of the Taohuawu area. It will evolve into a museum that features colorful exhibitions and advanced facilities and an artistic venue for popularizing traditional culture.
Besides, it will become a good destination where local residents and visitors can feel the charm of the national-level intangible cultural heritage.
