Multiple museums in Suzhou have recently announced their plans for extended nighttime opening. Besides, Tianping Mountain Scenic Spot and Tiehuangsha Scenic Spot will reopen to the public, too. Let’s have a look!
Suzhou Museum
Suzhou Museum will extend its opening until 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Statutory holidays (no admission after 8 p.m.).
*If the Saturdays and Sundays are marked as the additional working days to compensate for a national holiday break, the museum’s opening hours on Fridays will not be extended and remain the same as before (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Suzhou Museum of Opera and Theater
Suzhou Museum of Opera and Theater (Suzhou Kunqu Opera Museum of China, Suzhou Pingtan Museum of China) will extend its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Extended opening hours: 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (no admission after 8 p.m., closes at 8:30 p.m.) Ticket price: free of charge.
Venues opening after 5 p.m.: Ming and Qing dynasties Kunqu Opera exhibition areas, ancient opera stage, grand hall (Suzhou Kunqu Opera Museum of China); first floor of Suzhou Pingtan Museum of China.
Suzhou Museum of Inscribed Stone Tablets
Starting from September 24, Suzhou Museum of Inscribed Stone Tablets will extend its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Extended opening hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (no admission after 7:30 p.m.) Ticket price: free of charge.

Besides, the museum’s south gate admission channel will start to accept visitors at the end of this month. It will start trial operation from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (September 21 to 26, no admission after 4 p.m.).
Starting September 28, the new gate will be accepting visitors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (no admission after 4 p.m., closes on Mondays).
Suzhou Silk Museum
Starting September 10, Suzhou Silk Museum will extend its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Extended opening hours: 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (no admission after 8 p.m.) Ticket price: free of charge.
Tianping Mountain
Tianping Mountain will take on a new look and open to the public starting September 19. It has been closed since April 16 for the purpose of renovation.
The renovation project includes improving the landscapes of core areas at the mountain foot, connecting river systems, repairing roads and buildings, optimizing tour routes, etc.
Tiehuangsha
Tiehuangsha Ecological Island is now opening on a time-limited basis (September 12 to October 31). Tourists can go to the island and enjoy the great scenery gratis there on Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays. Opening hours on weekends and holidays: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (no entry after 3:30 p.m.)
