Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) Line 5 went into trial operation on February 8th. Photos taken at Suzhou Olympic Sports Center Station by iSuzhou reporter.
As the first rail transit line in Jiangsu Province that conforms to GoA4 Autopilot Standard and achieve unattended automatic driving, SRT Line 5 features high automaticity, high equipment accessibility and high system integration, etc. With a maximum speed of 80km/h, each SRT Line 5 train consists of six B-type carriages and is able to carry as many as 2,034 passengers.
During the Spring Festival, SRT Line 5 will undergo comprehensive test as planned, which will involve communication, signal, power supply, mechanical and electrical equipment, train and passenger transportation.
Starting at Taihu Xiangshan Station (太湖香山站) in Wuzhong District, SRT Line 5 passes through Wuzhong District, SND, Gusu District, SIP and stops at Yangchenghu South Station (阳澄湖南站) in SIP.
SRT Line 5 measures 44.1 kilometers in length and has 34 stations in total, including 33 under the ground and one above the ground. The Laodonglu Station (劳动路站) is 31 meters under the ground, which makes it the deepest rail transit station in Suzhou and the city’s first underground rail station with four floors.
In principle the whole SRT Line 5 will be under trial operation for no less than three months. After that, there will be pre-operation safety assessment as well. Residents in Suzhou can expect to travel by SRT Line 5 in the first half of 2021.
