Suzhou has guaranteed an adequate supply of food with stable prices for residents since the latest outbreak of COVID-19. The city now receives nearly 2,000 tons of grain daily and the stock has exceeded 12,000 tons, both seeing an increase from normal days.
The average daily supply of 29 farmers’ markets in Gusu District exceeded 600 tons, and the average prices of vegetables, meat and rice basically remain the same as the period before the outbreak. Prices are generally stable.
Major supermarkets including RT-Mart and Auchan have received fewer in-store shoppers. Instead, online orders have doubled compared with normal days.
Next, Suzhou epidemic prevention and control authorities will continue its efforts and strive to guarantee an adequate supply of food for residents.
