South extension to Xingtang Street to open to traffic

The south extension to Xingtang Street (Chefang Bridge to Suzhou-Tongli-Lili Highway section) is nearing completion. It is expected that the road will be paved by the end of March and open to traffic in April.

The 0.65-kilometer-long extension starts from the east side of Chefang Bridge, runs above Suzhou-Tongli-Lili Highway, and ends before the tollgate of Chefang Interchange. There are a total of four ramps to Wuzhong District, SIP, Suzhou-Tongli-Lili Highway, and Suzhou Modern Agricultural Product Logistics Park, respectively. The extension consists of a two-way six-lane overpass and two-way four-lane ground-level roads.

Upon completion, vehicles from Chefang and Dushu Lake Higher Education District in southern SIP can go to Middle Ring East Line, Suzhou Ring Expressway, and Suzhou-Tongli-Lili Urban Expressway directly via Chefang Bridge, saving at least 20 minutes.
