High-speed Trains
The Q3 train operation diagram will be put into use starting 12am, June 25. After that, there will be high-speed trains (G4) departing from Suzhou North Railway Station and running to Beijing South Railway Station. Tickets for the train are already available on 12306, China’s official railway ticket-booking platform.
The first G4 bullet-train will depart from Suzhou North Railway Station and finally stop at Beijing South Railway Station on June 25. The whole journey may take up 4 hours and 16 minutes.
New Bridges
According to Wuzhong District, construction of the connection project of Yinshan Island, Hengshan Island and Jinting Town, which kicked off last year, will become a spectacular sight in the Taihu Lake.
Apart from roads, the project includes two bridges with five arches, one bridge with three arches and three bridges and culverts. Upon its completion, residents on the island will enjoy greater convenience of traveling around. The construction of all the arch bridges is expected to end in late July.
Rail Transit
Suzhou Public Resource Trading Platform announced days ago that Zhangjiagang Bureau of Public Resource and Planning had won the tender for the rail transit project.
According to the project plan, Zhangjiagang will build two urban rail transit lines that come into the shape of a cross and measure 72.5km in total,with Chang’an Road-Nanhuan Road Hub as the transfer station. Zhangjiagang Rail Transit Line 1 will connect Suzhou Rail Transit Line S4 in the east and Jiangyin Rail Transit in the west (reserved).
Expressway Toll Policy
Toll charges for Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge will be RMB35 yuan/vehicle, other newly-built bridges that span the Yangtze River 40 yuan/vehicle (maximum), Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou South Expressway (Taihu Lake Tunnel) which is scheduled to be opened to traffic at the end of the year 50 yuan/vehicle, and other tunnels 5 yuan/kilometer (maximum).
Please note that the toll charge adjustment applies to newly-built bridges, tunnels and expressways only. Former toll policy remains the same.
