Wang Jinshan’s Kesi Art Exhibition

The earliest technique of Kesi was found on woolen fabrics unearthed in Xinjiang from Han Dynasty. In the Ming and Qing imperial courts, practical Kesi products were mainly enjoyed by royal families, while artistic Kesi expanding its subjects and yield, gradually forming a production and marketing center with Suzhou as the center. Kesi was also flourished due to a batch of young trainees, among whom Wang Jinshan was the top.

The exhibition is jointly hosted by Nanjing Museum, Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast, Television and Tourism, and Zhangjiagang People’s Government. It is designed to showcase the charm of the Yangtze River civilization and the cultural relics unearthed in the river basin.

The 4K commemorative edition of “Legend of Sealed Book” will be released on the big screen national wide on November 5 for the first time. The film is adapted from China’s first full-length supernatural novel Subjugation of Demons (Ping Yao Zhuan, 平妖传).
The film retains the image of the three foxes in the novel, and changes the Monk Egg to Dan Sheng (born from an egg). The main storyline, adapted by Bao Lei and Wang Shuchen, can be traced in part to Chinese folk tales. Different from the “tall and complete” character images created by the mainstream literary works at that time, the Book emphasizes the unique aesthetic appreciation of wonder, interest, and beauty.
