Kanazawa Umimirai Library is currently hosting Suzhou-Kanazawa Exchange Exhibition in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their friendship, which has become an important window for Suzhou to showcase Jiangnan culture in its sister city.
Themed on Suzhou crafts, the exhibition shows a total of 37 Suzhou artifacts falling into eight categories, including kesi, paper cutting, Suzhou embroidery, Taohuawu woodcut new year print, Suzhou fan, etc.
There is also a photo exhibition to display the exchange between the two cities as well as the scenery in Suzhou. Besides, two paper-cutting experiencing sessions were held on July 24 and 25.
Last month Suzhou-Kanazawa Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange Exhibition was held at Gusu District Art Gallery in Suzhou. The two cities will also co-host an online session on traditional crafts for teenagers in August.
