Curator Fang Yuan’s Statement:
(One Exhibition) is a distinctive public art exhibition brand. Here, the charm of public art is not only reflected in the artworks themselves but also in the shaping of the space. This interactivity encourages the audience to shed their defenses against the “exhibition,” discard filters, and engage with the artworks with a pure mindset, accepting the authentic echoes within.
The conceptual break, such as “一个-展” (“One-Exhibition”), “一-个展” (“One-Exhibition”), “展-一个” (“Exhibition-One”), disrupts the conventional rules that exhibitions impose on artists and spaces. The mission of is to ensure that each piece of artwork is seen, even if by only “one” viewer.
The connection between Teacher Shentian and Shantang Life Collection originated from the first “庭院茶会” (“Courtyard Tea Gathering”). Teacher Shentian’s works were presented in front of the wooden door in the courtyard, with the brick and stone door frame forming a large framing composition. This collision brought forth a unique vitality to this ancient residence with a history surpassing 560 years. This encounter laid the foundation for Teacher Shentian’s solo exhibition, (“Shentian Floral Language: Autumn Palette”). Throughout the entire ancient residence, he will use floral materials to embody the essence of autumn, expressing the beauty of autumn in color, once again showcasing the delightful “秋颜” (“Autumn Palette”) at Shantang Life Collection.

燊田花者 is an individual who showcases talent in various fields:
- As the person in charge of the Chinese Showa Tea House, he oversees the operation of the tea house.
- As a professor of the Urasenke school of Japanese tea ceremony, he has rich experience in teaching the way of tea.
- In Taiwan, he serves as the Fujian President of the Chinese Circle Tea Culture Association and a lecturer at the Fangyuan Guangsheren Cultural Space in Taiwan.
- He is also the inheritor of the Urasenke school of Japanese tea ceremony, preserving this ancient and delicate tea tradition.
- Additionally, he works as a designer specializing in interior decor during his stay in Japan.
With these diverse roles, 燊田花者 has become a multi-talented artist and cultural ambassador spanning across different domains.
Flower arrangement is a form of living art, expressing one’s thoughts, emotions, and aesthetic views. Through it, one can not only appreciate and enjoy the unique artistic beauty that emerges from the combination of nature and human creation but sometimes also draw a kind of spiritual strength from it. Ikebana, or the way of flowers, transforms life into an art and turns art into life.

The process of flower arrangement brings joy to individuals. The colors of the flowers, whether bright and vivid or soft and elegant, contribute to this delightful experience. Through the re-creation by the floral artist, those who admire the artwork can also share in the joy. This encapsulates Mr. Shentian’s perception of the art of flower arrangement.
Mr. Shentian says: “The beauty of the four seasons, the pinnacle of autumn hues. I love watching mountains in the fall, appreciating the elegance before the mountains, savoring the poetic atmosphere of distant peaks. I enjoy walking in autumn, traversing golden fields, passing through the season of abundance. Autumn is so beautiful, I want to remember it but find it hard to retain in memory….”
