Tiger Hill Wetland Park took on a new look and opened yesterday on a trial basis.
Located in the southwest of Suzhou’s downtown area, the Tiger Hill Wetland Park is designed to act as the city’s “urban green lung” — an area made up of eight function areas and 40 scenic spots, which meets the increasing demand from local residents for green space. The park has a total planning area of 873 hectares, 736 of which will serve as the sightseeing area, and up to 571 hectares of area will be free to visit.
The space located to the west of Xitanghe Road includes the flower and forest areas; residents can enter the area free from 6:00 to 20:00 every day. The space that requires reservations is located to the east of Xitanghe Road; residents can make reservations and then enter the area from 8:00 to 17:00 every day.
The reservation-free area lies in the downtown area of Xiangcheng District and has become a real go-to destination for the neighborhood to do morning and evening exercises; visitors can enter the area without reservations from 6:00 to 8:00 and 17:00 to 20:00. Please note that the ecological protection area is open to staff and researchers only for now.
