Instruction of Suzhou Twin Pagodas
The two pagodas built in the period of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty, are a pair of Buddhist pagodas. The distance between the two pagodas is only 20 meters. It is the only one in the country that the two towers are so close together, because the requirement of foundation is very high for the two towers to be built so close to each other, which shows that the ancient working people’s architecture is scientific and exquisite, and their wisdom is superb.
The twin pagodas in Suzhou are unique not only in Suzhou, but also in the whole country. The mystery of the twin pagodas makes them more mysterious. The twin pagodas are located in the courtyard of twin towers in dinghuisi lane. The appearance of the two towers is almost the same, and they are divided into seven layers. The East Tower is 33.3 meters high, and the West Tower is slightly higher, 33.7 meters. Despite thousands of years of wind and rain, the twin towers are still standing, which has aroused great concern of architects at home and abroad.
